Stroodles have landed in Germany! Our Pasta Straws are now available to buy from multiple German retailers, and are also stocked and served in drinks in multiple bars, restaurants and cafes across Germany!
Being inspired by zero-waste chief Anne-Marie Bonneau’s quote “We don’t need a handful of people doing zero waste perfectly. We need millions of people doing it imperfectly”, and an understanding that if many people make small positive changes it will cause a ripple effect and therefore eventually lead to something much bigger, our main ambition with Stroodles is to inspire the world to make small positive changes, that will then contribute to making a big difference and create a positive ripple effect. This is why we are so happy that our Pasta Straws have landed in Germany, and that we are spreading the Stroodles Movement across the globe, and are getting more of the world making positive changes with us, just one Stroodle at a time.
We are delighted to announce that bars, cafes and restaurants from Berlin to Hamburg are using our Pasta Straws in their establishments. From this, there has been a demand from consumers to buy Stroodles. At Stroodles we are keen to get the whole world stroodling, and therefore are excited to say that consumers in Germany can order Stroodles from our website by clicking here.
We feel so honoured to be able to say that Budni and Edeka, two of Germany’s largest retailer chains, now stock our Stroodles Pasta Straws!
Budni is a chain of drugstores located in Germany. The company was founded in 1912 and now operates over 180 stores. It is Germany's fourth largest drugstore retailer!
Budni started stroodling in September 2020.

We’d also like to use this opportunity to highlight Kitchentown and Foodstarter, two German platforms that have hugely helped us with our mission to get Germany stroodling.
Kitchentown are a global innovation platform that helps to develop, launch and commercialize, impact-driven and transformational food & beverage products.
KitchenTown Berlin is a hub for food innovators in one of Europe’s most vibrant and innovative cities. As more and more food startups launch in this region of the world, so is there a need for early stage production facilities, research & development space, along with KitchenTown expertise to support their efforts. Similar to the SF Bay Area facility, KitchenTown Berlin features a shared state-of-the art production facility for food startups, product development services, and a co-working space. Berlin also hosts a modular accelerator program for emerging food startups.
Foodstarter offers the platform to quickly and easily connect emerging products and food retailers.
We also want to highlight some of our amazing German customers who now have Stroodles stocked in their bars and restaurants, and are helping us, and their customers, save the planet from soggy paper straws and harmful plastic straws.
Hotel & Gasthof Tannenmühle
Hotel & Gasthof Tannenmühle is a beautifully rustic hotel and restaurant in the romantic Schlüchttal in the Southern Black Forest Nature Park.
The Tannenmühle restaurant serves delicious regional and authentic cuisine. On their restaurant menu you will find a large number of trout dishes (from their own trout farms) as well as a lot of regional and game dishes. Their selected wine list offers a large number of Baden wines as well as many international specialties, and they have an extensive list of cocktails and soft drinks (served with Stroodles of course!)
Trattoria Traversa is described as Italy in the heart of Münster.
What their guests appreciate about this Italian restaurant is the family atmosphere and the good location in the middle of the city centre.
All their pizzas (based on a traditional recipe) are baked directly on the hot stone of the local oven, and of course, the pasta that is served there is freshly made. All their dishes are typical of Italy such as antipasti, fresh meat and fish dishes, pasta, salads and pizza fresh from the stone oven contain only the best ingredients. When it comes to drinks, you can choose from a wide range of top Italian wines and cocktails (served with Stroodles Pasta Straws!)
Getting Germany stroodling is such a huge milestone for Mr. Stroodles, in his quest of helping the environment by providing the best eco-friendly alternative to single-use plastic straws! Thank you to all the German businesses mentioned in this blog post for making this happen - we are so happy that you believe in Stroodles and our mission, and that you’re helping us rid our oceans of harmful plastic straws.
We are extremely excited for what the future of the Stroodles journey will bring, as we are now greatly equipped to welcome even more amazing milestones and continue adding to our list of German customers, as well as welcoming new customers from all over the world.
