Pasta lovers rejoice!
At Stroodles HQ we absolutely love seeing our customers stroodling their drinks through our Stroodles Pasta Straws, and are therefore always keen to get even more people jumping on the Stroodles train and joining our eco-movement!
The idea of Stroodles Pasta Straws grew from our Chief Stroodle, Maxim’s belief that there must be a better way to enjoy your favourite cocktail, soda or smoothie whilst not leaving a footprint on the earth that will take generations to disappear! Knowing that 4.7 billion plastic straws were used every year in the UK alone, Maxim wanted to make a positive change, and therefore launched Stroodles Pasta Straws to allow people to do good, the easy way!
Our Stroodles Pasta Straws are flavourless, last 1 hour in cold drinks, and don’t compromise your drinking experience. Our straws allow you to say “Pasta la Vista” to soggy paper straws that turn into mush about 5 minutes after drinking out of them!
As our movement and product portfolio grows, so too does our commitment to making real change that impacts the planet in a positive way. At Stroodles we hope to leave a lasting positive impact, by spreading awareness about the plastic pollution problem in a non-preachy way, and inspiring millions about how fun and easy sustainability can be. Single use? No problem! As long as it’s Stroodles.
In this blog post we want to shine a light on two of our amazing stroodling partners, Pasta Evangelists, the most delicious pasta delivery company and Aperol, the creators of the most stroodletastic Italian bitters apéritif. So let’s delve in and explore who our stroodling partners, Pasta Evangelists and Aperol are!
Pasta Evangelists
At Pasta Evangelists, they believe that pasta makes everything feel better. So why not make pasta taste better? Aperol
The story of Italy’s favourite cocktail begins over 100 years ago, when the Barbieri Brothers unveiled a new aperitivo at the Padua International Fair in 1919. Inspired by the drinks they’d enjoyed in France, they named it Aperol, from the French word for aperitivo, ‘apero’. With its iconic orange hue and unique, refreshing flavour, the Aperol Spritz quickly became the drink of choice for groups of friends gathering together in the early evening.
So what actually is Aperol? Aperol is an Italian bitters apéritif made of gentian, rhubarb, and cinchona, among other ingredients. Its name comes from the Italian slang word for aperitivo, which is apero! Aperol is Italy's number one spirit. The signature serve, Aperol Spritz originated in the Venito region of Italy. The simple recipe of Prosecco, Aperol and soda water is called the Aperol Spritz and over 300,000 Aperol Spritz are served everyday around Venice in cafes and bars.
Aperol brings people together and is the perfect drink to start the evening, all year round. The drink matches perfectly with food: the Aperitivo ritual born in Veneto sees the Aperol Spritz served with some traditional light bites called ''cicchetti', small dishes that usually include tiny sandwiches, olives and small portions of local dishes.
To make the perfect Aperol Spritz, fill a large wine glass with ice. Combine Prosecco followed by Aperol in equal parts and add a dash of soda water. Stir and garnish with a slice of orange and drink through a Stroodle Pasta Straw! Salute!
So, why not grab your friends and your Stroodles and start your evening the Italian way with a pack of Stroodles and an Aperol Spritz - the match made in heaven!
