Stroodles Pasta Straws have taken over the London bar scene by storm. Just have a stroll around Soho or Shoreditch and you’ll be sure to see someone in a quirky, indie, and effortlessly cool bar sipping a G&T or an Aperol Spritz through a Stroodle.

We love seeing our customers enjoying our pasta straws and having a great time, and we are keen to get even more people jumping on the Stroodles train to join our eco-movement! Our ethos is centered on helping to make real, tangible change to the planet in positive ways. We are confident that by companies, retailers, and individuals using our various products we can avoid tonnes of plastic waste being consumed that would likely end up in our waterways. Along with our green initiatives, by using our eco-tableware products we are able to demonstrate to customers that sustainability is fun, easy, and accessible! The small swaps that Stroodles pose do not compromise drinking or dining experiences, in fact, they heighten these due to being novel and exciting!

In this blog we would like to shine a light on one of our favourite customers, the amazing Limin’ Beach Club in London. Limin’ is a hidden gem that brings Caribbean hospitality and Ibiza vibes direct to Southbank. This is a really magical place with summery, tropical interiors, providing the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of London life. We are so thrilled that Limin’ have joined our movement and are getting their Stroodle on.

Keep reading to find out even more about Limin Beach Club, how it got started, where it’s going, and how it began Stroodling…

How did Limin Beach Club begin?

More than 20 years ago, Sham Mahabir, the founder and owner of Limin’ Beach Club arrived in the UK. He was set on spreading the joy that he and so many others found from Trinidadian and Tobagonian cuisine. After years being an avid home-chef Sham decided in 2019 to try his hand at a pop-up restaurant in Old Spitalfields Market. This did remarkably well and made Limin’ a recognisable and very popular place to eat. In 2020, Limin’ moved venue to Southbank in the midst of the pandemic!

In spite of everything that Covid threw people’s way and the havoc this wreaked on the restaurant industry, this Trinidadian, rum-infused oasis in the middle of London has remained incredibly strong and has grown from strength to strength. Thousands of new and returning customers have graced this sand-filled, vibrant venue and as summer fast approaches we are sure that Limin’ will be the hottest place to visit.

You may be wondering why it is called Limin’? Island culture in Trinidad and Tobago is very playful, relaxed, and positive, and as such the word ‘liming’ has emerged to describe the art of doing nothing, while sharing food, drink, laughter and conversation with friends. This concept is something Mahabir wanted to bring over to the UK, to help Londoners learn to let down their hair and chill.

Stroodles & Limin

Limin Beach Club began using our Stroodles pasta straws in 2020 and they haven’t looked back since. Our pasta straws look fantastic in their drinks, especially their signature pineapple pina colada (pictured below). Our fun & quirky pasta straws work perfectly in tandem with the vibe of Limin and our Stroodles allow people to have a chilled-out time whilst engaging in a small, yet impactful sustainable swap.

We look forward to getting even more venues Stroodling! Our team believe sustainability doesn’t have to be difficult. It can be as simple as ordering a G&T and opting for a pasta straw rather than a plastic or paper one! Every time we decide to make eco-friendly choices the ripple effect is huge both socially and environmentally.
